As is the case with sophisticated good wines (which I happen to be very fond of), the making of certain things greatly benefits from a good resting time of the materials and the patience to put things together in a careful way. And so it is for me with the environmental recordings I have done in different expeditions, some of which are patiently waiting in the noble barrels of both my somatic and exo-somatic memories.
A considerable number of new extensive sound pieces / albums are currently in the making through such long-term processes, created entirely with original unevolved environmental sound matter from wilderness locations worldwide that I have recorded overt the past twenty-five years.
‘Himavanta’ is the first of these new pieces, created with recordings from the incredibly rich Thailand’s rainforests.
